PSL 2024: Babar Azam Hits 11th T20 Hundred Against Islamabad United, Joins Chris Gayle In Elite List

Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United will face each other in the 13th Match of PSL 2024 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore

The former Pakistan captain Babar Azam slammed his first-ever century in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 match against Islamabad, united on Monday, February 25 at Gaddafi stadium, Lahore.

This is Babar Azam’s 11th century in T20 cricket. This marks Babar Azam’s second century in the Pakistan Super League, following his impressive performance against the Quetta Gladiators last season.

Peshawar Zalmi, batting first after the toss, posted a mammoth total of 201 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Babar Azam reached his half-century in 39 balls before accelerating to a century in just 59 deliveries.

Babar stayed unbeaten until the very end and made sure that the Zalmi went past the 200-run mark. Babar is now just next to Chris Gayle who has 10 or more hundreds in T20 cricket.

Babar put on 77 runs for the opening wicket with young left-hander Saim Ayub. Thereafter, he stitched together an unbeaten 77-run stand with Asif Ali. Saim Ayub himself played an outstanding knock of 38 runs from 21 balls.
