PSL to Introduce Two New Teams Starting 2026

Pakistan Super League 2026 will feature a total of 8 teams.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises have reached an agreement to add two new teams to the league starting from the 2026 season. This expansion will bring the total number of participating franchises to eight.

Currently, the PSL features six teams that have been battling it out since the league’s inception: Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, and Karachi Kings.

However, fans will have to wait until the 11th edition of the PSL to witness the eight-team format in action. The upcoming 10th season of the league is scheduled to coincide with the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), leading to a scheduling conflict.

PSL 10 To Be Played in Peshawar and Quetta

Apart from this, PSL 10 is expected to be played in Peshawar and Quetta next year, with the final go-ahead for these venues subject to security clearances. Usually, it takes place across three venues in the country – Multan, Karachi and Lahore.

This expansion marks a significant development for the PSL, potentially increasing viewership, revenue, and overall excitement for the tournament. The addition of two new teams will also provide opportunities for more players to showcase their talents on the biggest stage in Pakistani cricket.
