Rohit Sharma Surpasses Babar Azam and Virat Kohli for Fastest 4000 T20I Runs
Rohit Sharma has completed 4000 runs in T20Is.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma etched his name in T20I history on Wednesday by becoming the 3rd batter to reach the coveted milestone of 4,000 runs in the format.
The Indian opener achieved this milestone during India’s T20 World Cup 2024 opener against Ireland at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and former Indian captain Virat Kohli are the only other batters with more than 4000 runs in T20Is.
Chasing a modest target of 97, Rohit Sharma started aggressively, taking on young pacer Joshua Little in the second over with a four and a six. He even enjoyed a slice of luck with a dropped catch at just 6 runs.
Rohit Sharma is also the fastest batter to achieve this milestone in terms of balls.

- 2900 – Virat Kohli
- 3079 – Babar Azam
Coming into the World Cup, Rohit’s form had raised eyebrows. However, Rohit provided a reassuring glimpse of his potential in India’s warm-up match against Bangladesh, scoring 23 runs off 19 balls before his dismissal by Mahmudullah Riyad.
Interestingly, Rohit’s last T20I before the World Cup saw him score a magnificent unbeaten 121 off 103 balls against Afghanistan back in January at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
