Shubman Gill Surpasses Virat Kohli, Achieves Highest-Ever Yo-Yo Test Score

Virat Kohli scored 17.2 in yo-yo test, Shubman Gill surpasses his numbers

A day following the advisory from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to abstain from sharing confidential details on social media, a PTI report reveals that Shubman Gill has achieved the highest score of 18.7 in the yo-yo Test.

Furthermore, the report added that almost all the Indian players slated to participate in the 2023 Asia Cup have successfully cleared the yo-yo test, achieving scores ranging from 16.5 to 18, with Shubman Gill achieving the highest score.

Notably, the former Indian captain Virat Kohli, renowned for his fitness, openly shared his yo-yo Test score of 17.2 on his Instagram handle on Thursday, August 24th. Following this, the BCCI urged their players to maintain the confidentiality of such information.

Earlier, on August 21, India unveiled a 17-member squad for the Asia Cup 2023, featuring star batters KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, who are making a return to the ODI setup after an extended injury break.

Rahul has recuperated from the injury he sustained during IPL 2023, but there are reports of him carrying a niggle, which might lead to his absence in the first couple of games of the Asia Cup 2023.

Team India will kick start it’s Asia Cup 2023 campaign against the arch-rival Pakistan on September 2 at Pallekele Stadium, Sri Lanka.
