Smriti Mandhana continued her brilliant form from the tournament opener against Trent Rockets into the Southern Brave’s second match against Welsh Fire, where she scored an unbeaten 70 runs from just 42 balls, including 11 boundaries.

However, Mandhana’s exceptional innings couldn’t save the day for the Southern Brave, who fell agonisingly short of the target by a mere four runs. Even though Danielle Wyatt displayed her prowess with a quickfire knock of 67 runs off 37 balls, the overall efforts of the duo eventually went in vain.
