Travis Head to Put His Name in the IPL 2024 Auction
Travis Head to enter IPL 2024 auction.
Australia opener Travis Head is set to come under the hammer in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction, which is scheduled to be held in Dubai on November 19.
“Yes, he will give his name,” a source privy to the development told Sportstar.
Notably, the World Cup-winning batter Travis Head went unsold at the IPL 2023 auction. However, things have changed a lot for him since then, especially after the way he led Australia to the WTC 2023 and World Cup 2023 titles with his breathtaking performances.
After a prolonged injury layoff, the 29-year-old’s return was nothing short of remarkable, highlighted by a brilliant 137 from a mere 120 balls in the World Cup final against India, which propelled Australia to claim their record sixth ODI World Cup title.
It was his second hundred in an ICC final this year, following his 163 in the World Test Championship decider at The Oval in June against India. He was adjudged the Player of the Match on both occasions.
Head had earlier been part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils (Now Delhi Capitals). However, his on-field appearances were exclusive to the former, featuring in 2016 and 2017, and managing to score 205 runs in 10 matches, boasting a strike rate of 138.51.
