Yash Dayal Shines, Guides RCB to IPL 2024 Playoffs with Clutch Bowling
Yash Dayal conceded just 7 runs in his final over against CSK.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a thrilling playoff berth in the IPL 2024 season after restricting Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to a score under 200 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in their final league match.
The hero of the night was undoubtedly young pacer Yash Dayal. Needing 17 runs off the last over with the dangerous MS Dhoni on strike, Dayal’s nerves remained rock solid.
MS Dhoni, ever the finisher, launched the first ball for a massive 110-meter six. However, Dayal bounced back in spectacular fashion, dismissing the legendary batter with a clever delivery.
Over the next four balls, he displayed nerves of steel, conceding just a single run to seal a dramatic victory for RCB and secure their place at fourth in the points table.
Earlier, the RCB batters had set a daunting target of 218 runs. The bowlers and fielders then took control in the middle overs, picking up wickets at regular intervals to stifle the CSK chase.
However, the experienced duo of Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja threatened to take the game away, putting immense pressure on young Yash Dayal in the final over.
