Yuzvendra Chahal Bowls Most Expensive Spell Ever After T20 World Cup 2024 Selection

Yuzvendra Chahal conceded 62 runs in his four over spell against SRH without picking up a wicket.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was taken to the cleaners by the SunRisers Hyderabad batters in the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match.

This tough outing comes just after he was picked for Team India’s squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Chahal, playing in his 300th T20 game, entered the attack during the seventh over, following RR’s strong bowling performance in the powerplay.

Chahal started his spell with an economical over, giving away only seven runs. He even started his second over well, but his rhythm was disrupted when Travis Head smashed three consecutive boundaries, including two sixes, to finish the over.

And as if things couldn’t get worse, Yuzvendra Chahal coughed up 21 runs in his third over, making his figures look dreadful. After three overs, he ended up leaking 46 runs.

His final over wasn’t any easier, as Heinrich Klaasen smashed him for two sixes right off the bat. Chahal tried to bounce back, but ended up conceding a total of 62 runs in his four overs.

This is the most expensive bowling spell bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal in IPL history. It’s definitely worrisome for both Rajasthan Royals and Team India, considering he’s been selected for the T20 World Cup 2024 squad.
